Beyond making friends and taking on raids, some players in WoW Forever treat the game as a gold-making and investment simulator. After all, earning gold also helps you upgrade your gear and stock up on consumables. No player has ever complained about having too much gold.
Choosing a profession and accumulating WoW Forever gold through gathering or crafting is the go-to strategy for most players. However, professions have undergone many changes, and these changes often bring new opportunities to earn gold. Let IGGM walk you through them.

Gathering Professions: Scarce Materials
If you gather resources through Mining, Herbalism, or Skinning, you need to understand Scarce Materials mechanic.
These materials can appear randomly while gathering, and earlier zones generally yield lower-tier Scarce Materials. For example, Herbalism may yield Frilled Lichen, Skinning may produce Pristine Leather, and Mining may uncover Pitchblende.
WoW Forever divides Scarce Materials into three tiers: Low, Mid, and High. Low-tier recipes generally become available at around 50–80 skill points, Mid-tier recipes at around 130–190 points, and High-tier recipes at around 230–275 points.
Low-tier materials may appear in level 1–20 zones, the second tier covers levels 20–40, and the third tier covers levels 40–60. However, the actual distribution may vary, with the first tier potentially extending to level 30, the second reaching level 59, and the third appearing only at level 60.
Scarce Materials are not exclusively useful for low-level crafting. Even lower-tier materials gathered in starting zones may remain valuable in the later stages of the game.
Fishing
Fishing has received significant improvements in WoW Classic+. First, two new items, Fishing Hut and Fishing Rack, can be placed next to a Campfire to provide buffs.
Once your Fishing skill reaches 150, you can gain a buff that allows you to discover uncommon fish. At 300 skill, you unlock the ability to discover rare fish.
Rare Fish can contain gems and Bind on Equip Uncommon items. This suggests that rare catches may yield higher-quality gems, larger quantities of materials, or even BoE rare items.
In addition, Message in a Bottle reward from Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza may contain new or existing endgame recipes. For example, Lionheart Helm recipe was discovered in one during testing.
The number of winners in the event has increased from just one to 50, giving more players a chance to obtain Messages in a Bottle. As a result, Fishing could be a particularly strong option to make WoW Classic+ gold both during the early days of the game and over the long term.
Enchanting: Arcane Salvager
Enchanting has received a new item called Arcane Salvager. Like other Campfire items, it can be placed in the world and increases material yields when disenchanting items.
However, crafting it requires a substantial investment of resources. It is therefore better suited to situations where you have accumulated a large number of items waiting to be disenchanted. Alternatively, you can team up with friends or guild members, place the Salvager, and disenchant items in batches to maximize its value.
New Recipes for Crafting Professions
Leatherworking, Tailoring, and Blacksmithing have all received new recipes. These additions are expected to drive up demand for older materials, including Arcanite Bars, Cured Rugged Hides, and Mooncloth.
If you want to level up quickly, rising demand for older materials could increase your leveling costs. You can buy cheap Forever WoW gold to trade these basic materials in bulk, keeping some for your own profession leveling and selling the rest when their value rises. With the right timing, you might even turn a profit.
The new version has also introduced additional Transmute recipes, potentially signaling that more transmutation content will arrive in the future. For players who enjoy managing an Alt Army and engaging in cooldown crafting, these changes are certainly worth watching, and they may represent the chance to make gold.
Early-Game Recipes
The new recipes are not limited to endgame content. Enchanting can now produce spell power-enhancing items, such as Minor Wizard Oil, relatively early in the game.
Strange Dust, which was previously used mainly for repeatedly enchanting items to level up Enchanting, can now be turned into Weapon Oils that can be sold to other players. Classes that benefit from Spell Power, including Paladins, Mages, Priests, and Warlocks, may all have a reason to seek out these items.
Alchemy has also received new early-game and endgame recipes, including Minor Arcane Elixir. These additions allow players to craft useful consumables that boost Spell Power or Attack Power while leveling, starting at lower levels.
Merchant’s Favor System

Merchant’s Favor System is a new profession-related economic feature in WoW Forever. Players can submit Waylaid Crates to earn Merchant’s Favor, which can then be exchanged for new profession recipes and additional rewards, including mounts, pets, and titles.
Although most recipes obtained through Merchant’s Favor System are Bind on Pickup, the crate system significantly increases demand for lower-tier materials, creating another promising investment opportunity.
The new mechanics in WoW Forever offer plenty of opportunities to build your wealth. IGGM recommends trying several of these methods and even leveling multiple alts to expand your options. With the right approach, you could soon become one of the wealthiest players in the game.
